Exploring Antietam Battlefield
Join us on the hallowed grounds of Antietam National Battlefield for an afternoon field shoot. Learn composition techniques to take thoughtful compelling pictures of cannon, historic structures, monuments to the fallen, and plenty more.
We will visit three main areas of this historic area. The Antietam National Battlefield with its monuments and rolling fields. Then the Antietam National Cemetery with rows of gravestones memorializing over 4,700 Union soldiers’ final resting place. Finally, a stop by the famous Burnside Bridge that crosses Antietam Creek. This was the sight of a 3-hour pitched battle between Union and Confederate forces.
Walking will be minimal as each area is easily accessible from a car. All students will travel in their own car to each site.
For best results, we recommend a digital SLR or Mirrorless camera, a zoom lens from wide-angle to telephoto (18-200mm), and a tripod with a cable release or remote.
NOTE - Students will be required to follow COVID-19 Safety Practices, conduct a Self-Screening Health Assessment and sign a Waiver of Liability prior to attending a class. These items can be reviewed on the class registration page.
Class limit: 6-8
